Finance Secretary opens new TSB Technology Centre
- 100 new specialist tech roles created in Edinburgh
TSB has opened its new Technology Centre in Edinburgh following the successful recruitment of 100 staff.
The Technology Centre has been created as part of a £120 million investment to transform the bank’s digital channels.
The facility, based at TSB’s George Street headquarters, houses technical specialists, data engineers, analysts and other IT experts to develop and deliver innovative services for five million customers across the UK.
The new team has already built the digital infrastructure needed to deliver Bounce Back Loan Schemes and assisted in the setup of the bank’s large scale remote working operation which has been pivotal through the pandemic and as colleagues now return to the office in a new hybrid model.
TSB’s CEO, Debbie Crosbie said: “Launching the TSB technology centre in Edinburgh builds on our long history in Scotland.
“We are delighted with the impact our Technology Centre is already having on the digital banking services we offer TSB customers. Customer demand for new digital services will only increase and this new investment will ensure we are well placed to meet that demand.”
Economy Secretary Kate Forbes said:
“I’m delighted to visit TSB’s new Technology Centre at Henry Duncan House in Edinburgh, which will develop and deliver innovative services for five million customers across the UK. The recruitment of 100 staff and TSB’s commitment to Edinburgh further underlines Scotland’s position as a world leading financial services, data and technology hub.
“Innovation like this will help us seize opportunities to do things differently, maximise our economic potential and build a fairer, greener and more prosperous Scotland.”
